Acupuncture and TCM
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. The goal of acupuncture is to restore balance by circulating the blood and energy, called qi (pronounced "chee"), throughout the body. This energy and blood flows through pathways called meridians. When the flow of blood and qi is disrupted it leads to pain and illness. Acupuncture is used to stimulate these points and restore the balance of qi and blood. Cupping, moxa and tui na are modalities used along side acupuncture and TCM treatments to achieve patients health and wellness goals.
